     Violet Mary Hope was born on 21 April 1887.1 She was the daughter of James Louis Alexander Hope and Eliza Coats.1 She married, firstly, Captain Edward Archibald Hume on 30 July 1912.1 She married, secondly, Major Sir Duncan McCallum, son of Colin Whitton McCallum, on 21 April 1925.1 She died on 30 October 1964 at age 77.1
     From 30 July 1912, her married name became Hume. From 21 April 1925, her married name became McCallum.
