He was heir to high-kingship of Ireland.1 Aedh ‘Macaemh Tóinleasg’, King of Cenel Eoghain also went by the nick-name of Aedh ‘Macaemh Tóinleasg’ (?) (or in English, ‘The Lazy-arsed Youth.1‘) In 1160 he killed his father’s killer, restored O’Neill power.1 He gained the title of King of Cenel Eoghain in 1176.1 In 1176 he became supreme in the North of Ireland.1
