     John Hext Ward was born on 17 July 1837.1 He was the son of John Ward and Mary Kendall.1 He was baptised on 13 September 1837 at Bodmin, Cornwall, England.1 He married Florence Caroline Blackwood Hallowes, daughter of Price Blackwood Hallowes and Charlotte Harriet Bond, in 1869 at Canterbury, Kent, England.1 He died in 1877 at Wandsworth, Surrey, England.1
     He was Chief Inspector, Inland Revenue.1
