He lived at Inverquharity, Angus, ScotlandG.2 In 1420 obtained from his brother Sir Walter, of Lintrathen, Treasurer of Scotland, the lands and territorial Barony of Inverquharity, in Kirriemuir, Forfarshire.1

On 15 June 1434 obtained charters from: Alexander Seton, feudal Lord of Gordon, of the lands of Newton, Herdhill and Kinnordie Balbredie, in the (territorial) Barony of Kirriemuir , Nichol Borthwick of the lands of Ladinch (15 March 1438) and William Gifford of B.1 In 1444 had licence to fortify his house and add an iron gate.1
