Sir Sydney Oakes, 2nd Bt.1 
He was educated at St. Andrew’s College, Aurora, Ontario, Canada.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Oakes, of Nassau, in the Bahama Islands [U.K., 1939] on 12 July 1943.1 He gained the rank of officer in 1944 in the Grenadier Guards.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant between 1945 and 1948 in the Royal Berkshire Regiment.1 He was President of Sydeta Securities Ltd.1
