     Sir Sydney Oakes, 2nd Bt. was born on 9 June 1927.¹ He was the son of Sir Harry Oakes, 1st Bt. and Eunice Myrtle McIntyre.² He married Greta Hartmann, daughter of Gunnar Victor Hartmann, on 22 June 1948.¹ He died on 8 August 1966 at age 39, following a car crash.¹
     He was educated at St. Andrew’s College, Aurora, Ontario, Canada.¹ He fought in the Second World War.¹ He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Oakes, of Nassau, in the Bahama Islands [U.K., 1939] on 12 July 1943.¹ He gained the rank of officer in 1944 in the Grenadier Guards.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant between 1945 and 1948 in the Royal Berkshire Regiment.¹ He was President of Sydeta Securities Ltd.¹

     Greta Hartmann was the daughter of Gunnar Victor Hartmann.² She married Sir Sydney Oakes, 2nd Bt., son of Sir Harry Oakes, 1st Bt. and Eunice Myrtle McIntyre, on 22 June 1948.¹ She died on 14 November 1977.¹
     From 22 June 1948, her married name became Oakes. She was Honorary Danish Consul to the Bahamas between 1967 and 1977.¹

     Felicity Oakes was born on 21 July 1952.¹ She is the daughter of Sir Sydney Oakes, 2nd Bt. and Greta Hartmann.² She married Steven Stuart Simpson in 1987.¹
     From 1987, her married name became Simpson.

     Virginia Viveca Oakes was born on 24 March 1954.¹ She is the daughter of Sir Sydney Oakes, 2nd Bt. and Greta Hartmann.² She married Gavin Andrew McKinney, son of J. Andrew McKinney, in 1982.¹
     From 1982, her married name became McKinney. She lived in 2003 at Nassau, Bahamas.¹

     Gavin Andrew McKinney is the son of J. Andrew McKinney.² He married Virginia Viveca Oakes, daughter of Sir Sydney Oakes, 2nd Bt. and Greta Hartmann, in 1982.¹

     Morgan Gavin McKinney was born in 1983.¹ He is the son of Gavin Andrew McKinney and Virginia Viveca Oakes.²

     Sydney Analia McKinney was born in 1987.¹ He is the son of Gavin Andrew McKinney and Virginia Viveca Oakes.²
