[Bahamas]1 He was President of Lake Shore Gold Mine Ontario.1 He was created 1st Baronet Oakes, of Nassau, in the Bahama Islands [U.K.] on 27 July 1939.1 He was appointed Fellow, Royal Geographical Society (F.R.G.S.)1
