     Mary Anne Elizabeth Layard was born on 4 August 1842.1 She was the daughter of Lt.-Col. Beville Granville Layard and Mary Anne Clark.1 She married Major Frederick George Pym, son of Commander R. E. Pym, on 11 July 1861.1 She died on 30 August 1870 at age 28.1
     From 11 July 1861, her married name became Pym.1
     She had four sons and a daughter.1
