     He lived at Port Elizabeth, Cape Province, South Africa^G.³

     Robert Francis Holland was born on 22 September 1836.¹ He was the son of Robert Holland and Sarah Frances Tonge.¹ He married Anna Maria Barber.² He died on 8 January 1892 at age 55.¹

     Arthur Herbert Holland was born on 11 October 1873.¹ He was the son of Benjamin Herbert Holland and Agnes Hope Huntly.¹ He married Madeleine Elise Emily Orpen, daughter of Joseph Millered Orpen and Elisa Pauline Rolland, on 22 January 1901.¹ He died in 1956.¹
     He was Personal Secretary to Cecil Rhodes.¹

     Madeleine Elise Emily Orpen was born on 22 November 1874 at Barkly East, Eastern Cape, South Africa.² She was the daughter of Joseph Millered Orpen and Elisa Pauline Rolland.^1,2 She married Arthur Herbert Holland, son of Benjamin Herbert Holland and Agnes Hope Huntly, on 22 January 1901.¹ She died on 24 August 1922 at age 47.¹
     From 22 January 1901, her married name became Holland.¹

     Joseph Millered Orpen was born on 5 November 1828 at Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland.² He married Elisa Pauline Rolland on 31 March 1859.² He died on 15 December 1923 at age 95 at East London, Eastern Cape, South Africa.²
     He held the office of Surveyor-General of Rhodesia.³ He lived at Avoca, Barkly East, Cape Province, South Africa.¹

     Douglas Orpen Huntly Holland was born on 7 December 1901.¹ He was the son of Arthur Herbert Holland and Madeleine Elise Emily Orpen.¹ He married Eva Frances Shaw, daughter of Walter Gascoigne Shaw, on 11 December 1928.¹ He died on 22 April 1964 at age 62 at Zimbabwe.^1,2
     He was educated at New College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, as a Rhodes Scholar.¹ He fought in the Second World War, in Intelligence, and was mentioned in despatches.¹

     Eva Frances Shaw is the daughter of Walter Gascoigne Shaw.¹ She married Douglas Orpen Huntly Holland, son of Arthur Herbert Holland and Madeleine Elise Emily Orpen, on 11 December 1928.¹
     From 11 December 1928, her married name became Holland.¹

     Walter Gascoigne Shaw lived at Camberley, Surrey, England.¹

     André Sothern Holland was born on 30 January 1931.¹ He is the son of Douglas Orpen Huntly Holland and Eva Frances Shaw.¹ He married Susan Jessica Browning, daughter of Jack Leslie Browning, on 14 December 1956.²
     He was a Rhodesian Nuffield Scholar in 1960.³ He was member of the Council of Rhodesia National Farmers’ Union between 1962 and 1965.³
