     He gained the rank of Captain in the Queen Anne’s Guard.1

     Alexander Arbuthnot was born circa 1638.1 He married Catherine Ochterlony, daughter of Reverend David Ochterlony.1 He died on 27 February 1691.1
     He graduated from Marischal College, Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, ScotlandG, in 1654 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was the Minister in 1663 at Hollywood.1 On 19 September 1689 he was refused to sign an oath to the William and Mary, and was dismissed from his parish.1
