     Jean Elliot was born on 13 August 1737.1 She was the daughter of William Elliot of Wolfelee and Margaret Ogilvie.3,1 She married Henry Balfour, son of James Balfour, 1st of Pilrig and Louisa Hamilton, on 4 August 1765 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.3 She died in 1815.3
     From 4 August 1765, her married name became Balfour.3

     William Elliot of Wolfelee was born in 1688.1 He was the son of Thomas Elliot and Jean Inglis.1 He married Helen Elliot, daughter of Robert Elliot of Midlem Mill.1 He married Margaret Ogilvie, daughter of Adam Ogilvie of Hartwoodmyres and Jean Erskine of Dryburgh, on 24 March 1732.2 He died circa 26 January 1768.1 He was buried on 29 January 1768 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.2
