Gerard Collier, 5th Baron Monkswell of Monkswell was born on 28 January 1947.2 He was the son of William Adrian Larry Collier, 4th Baron Monkswell of Monkswell and Helen Dunbar.2 He married Ann Valerie Collins, daughter of James Collins, in 1974.2 He died on 12 July 2020 at age 73.
He was educated at George Heriot’s School, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.2 He graduated from Portsmouth Polytechnic, Portsmouth, Hampshire, EnglandG, in 1971 with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) (Mech. Eng.)2 He was product quality engineer with Massey Ferguson in 1972.2 He graduated from Slough Polytechnic, Slough, Berkshire, England, in 1972 with a Certificate in Works Management.2 He was service administration manager with Massey Ferguson in 1984.2 He succeeded as the 5th Baron Monkswell of Monkswell, co. Devon [U.K., 1885] on 27 July 1984.2 He held the office of Member of Manchester City Council between 1989 and 1994.2 He lived in 2003 at 513 Barlow Moor Road, Chorlton cum Hardy, Manchester, Lancashire, EnglandG.2
