Lt.-Col. Robert Rickart Hepburn1 
Lt.-Col. Robert Rickart Hepburn was born in 1720.2 He was the son of James Hepburn of Keith and Katherine Rickart.1 He married Magdalen Murray, daughter of Colonel William Murray and Anne Newman.1 He died on 24 May 1804.2
He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Inniskilling Dragoons.1 He purchased Congalton from Sir Robert Murray.1 His name was legally changed to Robert Rickart Hepburn on succeeding to his mother’s estate.1 He was given the name of Robert Hepburn at birth.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Kincardineshire between 1768 and 1774.1,2
