He was educated at St. Paul’s School, London, England.1 He succeeded as the 11th Lord Macdonell [Scotland, 1716] on 2 January 1901, Jacobite.1 He was British Vice-Consul to Baku, Russia between 1907 and 1920.1 He served with British Forces in South Russia and North Persia.1 He gained the rank of Honorary Major.1 He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1920.1 He was British Vice-Consul to Tiflis, Russia between 1920 and 1923.1
