He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.2 He fought in the Second World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant between 1943 and 1947 in the 11th Hussars.2 He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Markham, of Beachborough Park, Newington, Kent [U.K., 1911] on 7 September 1952.1 He was vice-chairman of the Narobi County Council between 1953 and 1955.2 He held the office of Member of the Legislative Council (M.L.C.) [Kenya] between 1955 and 1960.2 He was appointed Knight, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (K.St.J.) in 1973.2 He lived in 2003 at Nairobi, KenyaG.2
