     Major George Denis Macpherson was born on 14 November 1861.¹ He was the son of Allan Macpherson, 3rd of Blairgowrie and Emma Blake.² He died on 26 September 1915 at age 53 at Loos, Belgium, killed in action.¹
     He was educated at Winchester College, Winchester, Hampshire, England.¹ He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.¹ He gained the rank of Major between 1883 and 1906 in the Royal Munster Fusiliers.¹ He gained the rank of Major in the Royal Scots Regiment.¹ He fought in the First World War between 1914 and 1915.¹
