John ‘Dow’ Macnab1

John ‘Dow’ Macnab also went by the nick-name of ‘Smooth John’.1 In 1612 he led the raid in by which the Macnabs avenged the loss of their Christmas dinner by carrying their boat from Loch Tay over Glentarken to Loch Earn and attacking the Neishes, who had survived the recent battle at Boltachan.1 He fought in the Battle of Worcester in 1651, where he led 300 men.1 He had three other daughters (who died unmarried.)1

Mary Campbell1 
Her married name became Macnab. On 15 October 1633 she had a charter of the life-rent of Kinnell from her father-in-law.1 From 29 April 1660, her married name became MacGregor.1 She took the lands of Ewer in exchange for Kinnell.1
