     He was in the Honourable East India Company Service.1 He fought in the Indian Rebellion.1

     John James Hamilton Burgoyne was born circa 1808.2 He was the son of Sir John James Burgoyne, Bt. and Charlotte Head.3,2 He married Jane Anna Maria Mac Gregor, daughter of Maj.-Gen. Sir Evan John Murray Mac Gregor of Mac Gregor, 2nd Bt. and Lady Elizabeth Murray.1 He died circa 30 June 1856 at Weymouth, Dorset, England.2 He was buried on 3 July 1856 at Melcombe Regis, Dorset, England.2
     He gained the rank of Captain in the 93rd Highlanders.1

     Sir Alexander Menzies of that Ilk, 1st Bt. was born in 1623.2 He was the son of Duncan Menzies of Menzies and Weem and Jean Leslie.2 He married Agnes Campbell, daughter of Sir John Campbell of Glenorchy, 4th Bt. and Lady Mary Graham.1 He died before 16 April 1695.1
     He was created 1st Baronet Menzies [Nova Scotia] on 2 September 1665.1
