He lived at Stuckinroy on the eastern shore of Loch Lomond and western shoulder of Ben Lomond.1 He was Tutor of MacGregor during the minority of the 14th Chief in 1649.1 In 1651 as a Royalist, he held the passes at the Heads of Forth for King Charles II.1 In 1653 during Glencairn’s royalist rising, the clans involved assembled at ‘MacGregor’s Hall’ in the isle of Loch Rannoch and he led 200 Gregarach at the Battle of Aberfoyle.1 In 1655 he made peace between some Gregarach and the Laird of Buchanan.2
