Patrick Macarthur of Inistrynich was born circa 1728.1 He was the son of Duncan Macarthur of Tirivadich and Isobel Campbell.2 He married Mary Campbell, daughter of Dugald Campbell, 18th of Craignish.1 He died in 1771 at Jamaica.1

Sir John Ralph Macartney, 7th Bt. was born on 24 July 1945.1 He is the son of Sir John Barrington Macartney, 6th Bt. and Amy Isobel Reinke.2 He married Suzanne Marie Fowler in 1966.1
He succeeded as the 7th Baronet Macartney, of Lish, co. Armagh [I., 1799].2 He gained the rank of Petty Officer in 1964 in the Royal Australian Navy.1 He fought in the Vietnam War between 1968 and 1969.1 He was a teacher between 1979 and 1982 at Bruce College Technology and Further Education, A.C.T., Australia.1 He lived in 2003 at Mount Pleasant, Queensland, AustraliaG.1
