     He was educated at Trinity College, Glenalmond, Perthshire, Scotland.¹ He fought in the First World War, where he was wounded.¹ He gained the rank of officer in the Royal Air Force.¹ He was educated at Trinity Hall, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in 1928 in the Ayrshire Yeomanry (Territorial Army.)¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Ayrshire between 1931 and 1935.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the TARO.¹ He gained the rank of Major in 1938.¹ He fought in the Lieutenant Colonel between 1939 and 1944, Ayrshire Yeomanry.¹ He was awarded the Territorial Decoration (T.D.) in 1950.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Ayrshire in 1966.¹

     Robin Butterfield lived at Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.¹

     Eileen May Butterfield is the daughter of Robin Butterfield.² She married James Orr MacAndrew, son of Francis Glen MacAndrew and Elizabeth Muir Graham, on 9 September 1944.¹
     From 9 September 1944, her married name became MacAndrew.

     Amanda Rose MacAndrew was born on 7 June 1947.¹ She is the daughter of James Orr MacAndrew and Eileen May Butterfield.² She married John Hartshorne Courtney Nicholson, son of Claude Nicholson, on 31 October 1969.¹
     From 31 October 1969, her married name became Nicholson. She lived in 2003 at Adstockfields, Adstock, Buckinghamshire, England^G.¹

     John Hartshorne Courtney Nicholson was born in 1941.² He was the son of Claude Nicholson.³ He married Amanda Rose MacAndrew, daughter of James Orr MacAndrew and Eileen May Butterfield, on 31 October 1969.¹ He died on 26 November 2019.²

     John Hempe Nicholson was born on 5 October 1970.¹ He is the son of John Hartshorne Courtney Nicholson and Amanda Rose MacAndrew.²
