     John Grimston was born on 17 February 1724/25.¹ He was the son of Thomas Grimston and Jane Close.² He married Jane Legard, daughter of Sir Thomas Legard, 4th Bt. and Frances Digby, on 12 March 1753.¹

     Thomas Grimston was born on 9 December 1753.¹ He was the son of John Grimston and Jane Legard.² He married Frances Legard, daughter of Sir Digby Legard, 5th Bt. and Jane Cartwright, on 19 February 1780.¹ He died on 2 May 1821 at age 67.¹
     He lived at Grimston Garth, Yorkshire, England.²

     Sir Digby Legard, 5th Bt. was the son of Sir Thomas Legard, 4th Bt. and Frances Digby.² He married Jane Cartwright, daughter of George Cartwright, in August 1755.² He died on 4 February 1773.²
     He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Legard, of Ganton, co. York [E., 1660] in May 1735.²

     Frances Legard was the daughter of Sir Digby Legard, 5th Bt. and Jane Cartwright.² She married Thomas Grimston, son of John Grimston and Jane Legard, on 19 February 1780.¹ She died in 1827.²
     From 19 February 1780, her married name became Grimston.

     Charles Grimston was born on 2 July 1791.¹ He was the son of Thomas Grimston and Frances Legard.² He married Jane Trench, daughter of Very Rev. Thomas Trench and Mary Weldon, on 10 November 1823.¹ He died on 21 March 1859 at age 67.¹
     He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, England.¹ He was educated at Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Yorkshire.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Yorkshire.¹
