     He was educated at St. Thomas Hospital Medical School, London, England^G.² He was with the Colonial Medical Service in 1873 at Kingston, Jamaica^G.² He was Principal Medical Officer, Straits Settlements in 1890.¹ He graduated from St. Andrew’s University, St. Andrews, Fife, Scotland^G, with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.)^1,2 He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1901.¹

     Colonel Maximilian St. Leger Simon was born in 1876 at Malucca, Indonesia^G.² He was the son of Maximilian Frank Simon and Cornelia Georgina Johnston.^3,2 He married Mabel Louise Lees, daughter of Thomas Orde Hastings Lees and Grace Bateman, on 6 July 1902.¹ He died on 5 January 1951.
     He was educated at Blundell’s School, Tiverton, Devon, England^G.² He gained the rank of Colonel in the Royal Engineers.¹ He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.)¹

     Ellen Lees was the daughter of Reverend John Lees and Lady Louisa Hastings.² She married Maj.-Gen. Thomas Scovell Charles Bigge on 13 March 1866.¹ She died on 12 June 1928.¹
