He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1880 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He was admitted to Inner Temple in 1882 entitled to practise as a barrister.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Norfolk in 1882.1 He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1883 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Jones, of Cranmer Hall, co. Norfolk [U.K., 1831] on 21 August 1884.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the 3rd Volunteer Battalion, Norfolk Regiment.1
