     Robert Hamilton, 7th of Fairholm and of Milburne was born in 1576.1 He was the son of Robert Hamilton, 6th of Fairholm and of Milburne and Houston and Margaret Hamilton.2 He married, firstly, Isobel Hamilton, daughter of Gavin Hamilton, younger of Raploch and Elizabeth Mure.1 He married, secondly, Marion Lockhart, daughter of James Lockhart of Lee, in 1619.1 He died in 1646.1
     On 20 May 1581 he was served heir to his father.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Lanarkshire in 1634.1

     Archibald Hamilton was the son of Robert Hamilton, 7th of Fairholm and of Milburne and Isobel Hamilton.2 He died in 1651 at Stirling, Stirlingshire, Scotland, hanged for giving information to the English leading to the capture of Earl of Eglinton (his widow was subsequently granted reparation and the family moved to Ireland).1
