     Major Alexander James Mann was the son of Dr. Alan Mann.2 He married Constance Helena Stuart-Stevenson, daughter of Herbert Harry Macdonald Stuart-Stevenson of Torrance and Helen Constance Crawfurd-Stirling-Stuart, on 12 June 1954.1 He and Constance Helena Stuart-Stevenson were divorced in 1970.1 He died in June 1982.1
     He gained the rank of Major in the King’s Own Scottish Borderers.1 He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)1
