     Commander Richard Noel Johnstone was born on 25 December 1896.¹ He was the son of Charles Julius Johnstone and Mary Gertrude Jones.² He married Mary Edmée Campbell, daughter of Charles William Campbell, on 5 January 1933.¹ He died on 21 December 1988 at age 91 at Rye, Sussex, England.³
