Sir Ronald Gordon Berowald Innes of Balvenie, 16th Bt. usually went by his middle name of Berowald. He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, England.1 He fought in the Second World War, where he was wounded.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Seaforth Highlanders.1 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1943.1 He was commander of the 7th Battalion, Seaforth Highlanders, psc, GSO(1) WO 1946–48, OC 4th Uganda Battalion KAR and OC Troops Uganda 1948–49 in 1945.1 He was OC of the 4th Uganda Battalion, King’s African Rifles.1 He was OC of the Troops, Uganda between 1948 and 1949.1 He succeeded as the 16th Baronet Innes, of Balvenie [N.S., 1628] on 2 September 1978.1
