     Brig.-Gen. Hon. Hugh Brisbane Henry Ewart Monro was born in 1953. He is the son of Hector Seymour Peter Monro, Baron Monro of Langholm and Elizabeth Anne Welch.¹ He married Catriona Elizabeth Torrie, daughter of Reverend Adam Ronald Rentoul Torrie and Elizabeth Muriel Philippa Maclean.¹
     He was educated at Glenalmond College, Glenalmond, Perthshire, Scotland^G.¹ He was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.) in 1988.¹ He was Commanding Officer of the 1st Battalion, Queen’s Own Highlanders between 1993 and 1994.¹ He was Commanding Officer of the Cameron Highlanders between 1994 and 1995.¹ He was Commander of the The Lowland Brigade in 1996.¹ He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 2003. He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Banffshire in 2019.²

     Alice Millar was born in 1863.¹ She was the daughter of Christian Hoyer Millar and Marion Marshall Watson.² She married Very Rev. Charles Pressley Smith.¹ She died in 1899.¹
     Her married name became Smith.
