     Lt.-Col. Henry Eoghan O’Brien was born in 1876.1 He was the son of Murrough John O’Brien and Elinor Waller.2 He married Frances Victoria Lucy Smythe, daughter of Richard Altamont Smythe and Frances Anne Jane Bellingham, on 10 January 1905.1 He died on 9 September 1967.1
     He graduated in 1898 with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Royal Engineers.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1918.1 He fought in the First World War, and was mentioned in despatches twice.1

     He fought in the Second World War.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Commander (E) in the Royal Navy.1
