     William Atkinson Gardner was born on 22 June 1814 at Manchester, Lancashire, England.² He was the son of Robert Gardner.¹ He married Margaret Cumming.² He died on 21 June 1855 at age 40 at Newnham, Tasmania, Australia.²
     He emigrated to Australia arriving on 9 March 1851.²

     Jessie Ann Atkinson Gardner was the daughter of William Atkinson Gardner and Margaret Cumming.^2,3 She married Captain John William St. John Hughes, son of Rev. Sir Thomas Collingwood Hughes, 8th Bt. and Elizabeth St. John Butcher, in 1863.¹ She died in 1879.¹
     From 1863, her married name became Hughes.

     Frederic St. John Hughes was born on 22 February 1866.¹ He was the son of Captain John William St. John Hughes and Jessie Ann Atkinson Gardner.² He married Gertrude Mabel Jane Evans, daughter of David Evans, on 12 December 1908.¹ He died on 3 November 1956 at age 90.¹
     He gained the rank of Captain in the South Wales Borderers.¹ He fought in the Boer War between 1899 and 1900.¹ He gained the rank of Captain and Brevet Major in the 3rd Battalion, Duke of Cornwall’s Light Infantry.¹ He fought in the First World War.¹ He was appointed Member, Royal Victorian Order (M.V.O.) in 1916.¹ He was awarded the Order of St. Maurice and St. Lazarus of Italy.¹ He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1919.¹

     David Evans held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)¹ He lived at Frwdgrech, Breconshire, Wales.¹

     Gertrude Mabel Jane Evans was the daughter of David Evans.² She married Frederic St. John Hughes, son of Captain John William St. John Hughes and Jessie Ann Atkinson Gardner, on 12 December 1908.¹ She died on 3 July 1965.¹
     From 12 December 1908, her married name became Hughes.

     Alpha Jessie Ruth Hughes was born on 22 January 1910.¹ She is the daughter of Frederic St. John Hughes and Gertrude Mabel Jane Evans.² She married G/Capt. James McLaughlin on 8 October 1938.¹
     From 8 October 1938, her married name became McLaughlin.

     G/Capt. James McLaughlin married Alpha Jessie Ruth Hughes, daughter of Frederic St. John Hughes and Gertrude Mabel Jane Evans, on 8 October 1938.¹
     He gained the rank of Group Captain in the Royal Air Force.¹ He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross (D.F.C.)¹ He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.)¹

     Deirdre McLaughlin was born on 19 May 1940.¹ She is the daughter of G/Capt. James McLaughlin and Alpha Jessie Ruth Hughes.² She married James Charles Hanna on 12 August 1967.¹
     From 12 August 1967, her married name became Hanna. She lived in 2003 at Field House, 24 Northhill Road, Ickwell, Bedfordshire, England.¹

     James Charles Hanna married Deirdre McLaughlin, daughter of G/Capt. James McLaughlin and Alpha Jessie Ruth Hughes, on 12 August 1967.¹

     James Owen Hanna was born on 18 December 1970.¹ He is the son of James Charles Hanna and Deirdre McLaughlin.² He married Claire Louise Port on 27 July 2002.¹
