Sir George Harry Holcroft, 1st Bt. was born on 14 August 1856.1 He was the son of William Holcroft and Mary Guest.2 He married Annie Gertrude Coombes, daughter of Reverend Jeremiah Coombes, on 11 October 1893.1 He died on 19 April 1951 at age 94.1
He graduated from Exeter College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Staffordshire.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Worcestershire.1 He was Lord Manor Berrington, Salop, High Sheriff Staffordshire in 1913.1 He was created 1st Baronet Holcroft, of Eaton Mascott, Berrington, co. Salop [U.K.] on 12 January 1921.1
