     Mary Martha Dalrymple was born on 14 October 1835 at Madras, India.2 She was the daughter of William Henry Clarence Dalrymple and Margaret Werge.1 She married Thomas Eustace Smith, son of William Smith, in 1855.1 She died in 1919.2
     From 1855, her married name became Smith.1 She and Rt. Hon. Sir Charles Wentworth Dilke, 2nd Bt. were associated.3

     Thomas Eustace Smith was baptised on 24 June 1831 at Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Northumberland, England.2 He was the son of William Smith.3 He married Mary Martha Dalrymple, daughter of William Henry Clarence Dalrymple and Margaret Werge, in 1855.1 He died in 1903.3
     He lived at Lyndhurst, Hampshire, EnglandG.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Tynemouth and North Shields between 1868 and 1885.3

     Colonel Edward Jackson Bruce was born in 1828.3 He was the son of George Bruce.2 He was baptised on 14 October 1828 at St. Stephen’s Church, Bristol, England.2 He married Ellen Arbuthnot Dalrymple, daughter of William Henry Clarence Dalrymple and Margaret Werge, in 1857.1 He died on 7 June 1879.3,2 He was buried on 8 June 1879 at Naini Tal, Bengal, India.2
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Artillery.1
