Francis Willey, 1st Baron Barnby1 
Francis Willey, 1st Baron Barnby was born on 27 February 1841.1 He was the son of John Willey.1 He married Florence Chinnock, daughter of Frederick Chinnock, on 10 August 1880.1 He died on 16 February 1929 at age 87 at Blyth Hall, Nottinghamshire, EnglandG.1 He was buried on 19 February 1929 at Blyth, Nottinghamshire, EnglandG.1
He was a director of Francis Willey & Company, wool merchants.1 He gained the rank of Major between 1888 and 1891 in the West Riding of Yorkshire Artillery Volunteers.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Nottinghamshire in 1908.1 He was created 1st Baron Barnby, of Blyth, co. Nottingham [U.K.] on 26 January 1922.1
The Times recorded that he “was a great figure in the wool trade, and under his guidance the family business which he inherited had grown and prospered; he was also a real ‘character,’ shrewd, hard-headed, practicl, and a keen sportsman, and in him Bradford loses a generous beenfactor to charities… He was a regular rider to hounds and an ardent supporter of racing.”1
