Charles Goring, 2nd Earl of Norwich1 
He gained the rank of Colonel in the Royalist Army.1 He fought in the Battle of Marston Moor in July 1644, where he was captured and then escaped.1 He fought in the 2nd Battle of Newbury in October 1644.1 He held the office of Captain of the Yeoman of the Guard.1 He was Clerk of the Council of Wales in 1661.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Earl of Norwich [E., 1644] on 6 January 1662/63.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Goring of Hurstpierpoint, co. Sussex [E., 1628] on 6 January 1662/63.1
