     Martin Madan was born in 1726.¹ He was the son of Colonel Martin Madan and Judith Cowper.¹ He married Jane Hale, daughter of Sir Bernard Hale and Anne Thoresby, in 1751.¹ He died in 1790.¹

     Sir Bernard Hale was born in 1677.¹ He was the son of William Hale. He married Anne Thoresby.¹ He died on 7 November 1729 at Red Lion Square, London, England.²
     He was admitted to Gray’s Inn in February 1704 entitled to practise as a barrister.² He held the office of Lord Chief Baron of the Exchequer [Ireland] on 1 June 1725.¹ He was appointed Knight on 4 February 1726.² He lived at King’s Walden, Hertfordshire, England^G.¹

     Her married name became Hale.¹
