     He was educated at Winchester College, Winchester, Hampshire, EnglandG.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Earl of Longford [I., 1785] on 24 May 1835.1 He succeeded as the 4th Baron Longford, co. Longford [I., 1756] on 24 May 1835.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Silchester, co. Southampton [U.K., 1821] on 24 May 1835.1 He gained the rank of Major in the 2nd Life Guards.1
