     Atholl Mac Gregor was born on 22 July 1836.1 He was the son of Sir John Athol Bannatyne Mac Gregor of Mac Gregor, 3rd Bt. and Mary Charlotte Hardy.1 He married Caroline Mary Stuart Menzies, daughter of Sir Robert Menzies of that Ilk, 7th Bt. and Annie Balcarres Stewart, on 23 April 1878.1 He died on 2 March 1922 at age 85.1
     He was British Resident to Travancore.2 He was with the Madras Civil Service.2

Caroline Mary Stuart Menzies1

     Caroline Mary Stuart Menzies was the daughter of Sir Robert Menzies of that Ilk, 7th Bt. and Annie Balcarres Stewart.1,2 She married Atholl Mac Gregor, son of Sir John Athol Bannatyne Mac Gregor of Mac Gregor, 3rd Bt. and Mary Charlotte Hardy, on 23 April 1878.1 She died on 10 December 1906.1
     From 23 April 1878, her married name became Mac Gregor.1
