     He fought in the First World War.¹ He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)¹ He gained the rank of Major in the Royal Fusiliers.¹

     Elizabeth (?) married Michael Henry Persse, son of Henry Wilfred Persse and Marjorie Frances Hoskyn.¹
     Her married name became Persse.

     Gerard Baldwin Persse was born on 11 July 1891.¹ He was the son of Lt.-Col. Edward Persse and Margaret Clerk.² He died in 1926 at Cape Town, Cape Province, South Africa, unmarried.¹
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Field Artillery.¹ He fought in the First World War.¹ He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)¹

     Ethel Frances Persse was born on 11 July 1873.¹ She was the daughter of Lt.-Col. Edward Persse and Margaret Clerk.² She married Sir Henry Paul Harvey on 6 August 1896.¹ She died on 1 December 1966 at age 93.¹
     From 6 August 1896, her married name became Harvey.

     Sir Henry Paul Harvey married Ethel Frances Persse, daughter of Lt.-Col. Edward Persse and Margaret Clerk, on 6 August 1896.¹ He died on 27 September 1948.¹
     He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)¹ He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹ Sir Henry Paul Harvey usually went by his middle name of Paul.¹ He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of St. Michael and St. George (K.C.M.G.)¹

     Marion Persse was born on 2 December 1878.¹ She was the daughter of Lt.-Col. Edward Persse and Margaret Clerk.² She was baptised on 16 February 1879 at Berhampore, Madras, India.³ She married David Runciman Boyd, son of Reverend William Boyd, on 27 July 1909.¹ She died on 29 August 1955 at age 76.¹
     From 27 July 1909, her married name became Boyd.
