     Commander Francis John Lambert was born on 12 March 1891.¹ He was the son of Colonel Joseph Alexander Lambert and Grace Susan Fane.² He married Barbara Yelverton Goring, daughter of Barry Yelverton Goring and Marion Haslewood Pynsent, on 22 July 1922.¹ He died on 29 April 1969 at age 78.¹
     He was educated at Royal Naval College, Dartmouth, Devon, England^G.¹ He was educated at Royal Naval College, Greenwich, London, England^G.¹ He fought in the First World War.¹ He was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross (D.S.C.) in 1919.¹ He was King’s Harbourmaster of Dover between 1939 and 1943.¹ He fought in the Second World War.¹ He was King’s Harbourmaster of Kilindini, East Africa between 1943 and 1945.¹ He retired from the military, with the rank of Commander, late of the Royal Navy.¹ He was Captain and Superintendant of H.M. Dockyard Kilindini in 1945.¹

     Barry Yelverton Goring was born on 24 April 1851.² He was the son of Forster Goring and Hon. Sydney Eloisa Yelverton.² He married Marion Haslewood Pynsent, daughter of Charles Pitt Pynsent, in 1893.² He died on 29 January 1929 at age 77.²

     Barbara Yelverton Goring was the daughter of Barry Yelverton Goring and Marion Haslewood Pynsent.^2,3 She married Commander Francis John Lambert, son of Colonel Joseph Alexander Lambert and Grace Susan Fane, on 22 July 1922.¹ She died on 29 September 1973.¹
     From 22 July 1922, her married name became Lambert.³
