He was educated at Marlborough College, Marlborough, Wiltshire, EnglandG.1 He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He fought in the First World War, and was mentioned in despatches.1 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1917.1 He gained the rank of Major in the Rifle Brigade (Prince Consort’s Own.)1 He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Hodson, of Holybrooke House, co. Wicklow [I., 1789] on 3 January 1921.1 He fought in the Second World War.1
