Joshua William Allen, 6th Viscount Allen also went by the nick-name of ‘King Allen’.1 He matriculated at Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, on 22 October 1801.1 He graduated from Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, on 13 June 1804 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He fought in the Peninsular Wars, serving under Wellington, where he distinguished himself with his dashing conduct.1 He succeeded as the 6th Viscount Allen, co. Kildare [I., 1717] on 1 February 1816.1 He succeeded as the 6th Baron Allen of Stillorgan, co. Dublin [I., 1717] on 1 February 1816.1
On his death, his titles became extinct.1
