He is the son of Konstantin Graf von Waldburg zu Zeil und Trauchburg and Eleonore Marie Josephe Gabriele Prinzessin von Bayern. He married Antonia Hilda Brunetti, daughter of Tito Tomasso Maria Brunetti and Editha Marie Gabrielle Anne Prinzessin von Bayern, on 4 June 1982 at Andechs, Germany^G.
