     Sir James Frederick Hill, 4th Bt. was born on 5 December 1943.² He is the son of Sir James Hill, 3rd Bt. and Marjory Croft.² He married Sandra Elizabeth Ingram, daughter of John Crosland Ingram, on 9 September 1966.²
     He was educated at Wrekin College, Wellington, Shropshire, England^G.² He was educated at Bradford Institute of Technology, Bradford, Yorkshire, England.² He was director of Yorkshire Building Society between 1972 and 1996.² He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Hill, of Bradford [U.K., 1917] in 1976.¹ He was chairman of the British Wool Federation between 1987 and 1990.² He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of the West Riding, Yorkshire in 1994.² He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 2000.² He lived in 2003 at Roseville, Moor Lane, Menston, Yorkshire, England^G.²
