     Rt. Hon. Sir Francis Bond Head, 1st Bt. was born on 1 January 1793.1 He is the son of James Roper Head and Frances Anne Burgess. He married Hon. Julia Valenza Somerville, daughter of Lt.-Col. Hon. Hugh Somerville and Mary Digby, on 20 May 1816.1 He died on 25 July 1875 at age 82.1
     He gained the rank of Major in the Royal Engineers.1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Hanoverian Order (K.C.H.)1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.)1 He held the office of Lieutenant-Governor of Upper Canada between 1835 and 1838.1 He was created 1st Baronet Head, of Rochester [U.K.] on 14 July 1838.1

     He was the Rector at Feniton, Devon, EnglandG.1
