     He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, England^G.¹ He was with the BSAP Reserve, Rhodesia between 1979 and 1980.¹ He gained the rank of officer in 1981 in the 1st Battalion, Irish Guards.¹ He was educated at Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He was appointed Fellow, Royal Geographical Society (F.R.G.S.) in 1988.¹ He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Gunston, of Wickwar, co.      Rosalind Eliott is the daughter of Edward Gordon Eliott.² She married Sir John Wellesley Gunston, 3rd Bt., son of Richard Wellesley Gunston, 2nd Bt. and Joan Elizabeth Marie Forde, on 1 September 1990.¹ She and Sir John Wellesley Gunston, 3rd Bt. were divorced in 1998.¹

     Thomas Bernard Gunston was born on 21 October 1813.¹ He married Marion Wilson, daughter of Robert Wilson.¹ He died on 24 April 1889 at age 75.¹

     Winfried Graf Henckel von Donnersmarck was born on 9 November 1938 at Berlin, Germany^G.¹ He is the son of Lazarus Graf Henckel von Donnersmarck and Franziska Gräfin und Elde Herrin von und zu Eltz gennant Faust von Stromberg.¹ He married Christine Arnim on 29 December 1972 at Bonn-Bad Godesberg, Germany^G.¹ Winfried and Christine were also married in a religious ceremony on 6 January 1973 at Cologne, Germany^G.¹
     He was given the name of Maria Lazarus Winfried Friedrich Carl at birth.¹

     Christine Arnim was born on 22 June 1946 at Bad Oldesloe, Germany^G.¹ She married Winfried Graf Henckel von Donnersmarck, son of Lazarus Graf Henckel von Donnersmarck and Franziska Gräfin und Elde Herrin von und zu Eltz gennant Faust von Stromberg, on 29 December 1972 at Bonn-Bad Godesberg, Germany^G.¹ Christine and Winfried were also married in a religious ceremony on 6 January 1973 at Cologne, Germany^G.¹
     From 29 December 1972, her married name became Henckel von Donnersmarck.¹

     Marie Elizabeth Sophie Franziska Ludmila Henckel von Donnersmarck was born on 18 June 1973.¹ She is the daughter of Winfried Graf Henckel von Donnersmarck and Christine Arnim.¹
