     Robert Philip Brent Grotrian was born on 21 October 1908.1 He was the son of Sir Herbert Brent Grotrian, 1st Bt. and Mary Lilian Adams.2 He married, firstly, Elizabeth Mary Hardy-Wrigley, daughter of Major Herbert Hardy-Wrigley, on 10 December 1931.1 He and Elizabeth Mary Hardy-Wrigley were divorced in 1940.1 He married, secondly, Margaret Green, daughter of George Green, on 21 December 1940.1 He died on 7 September 1945 at age 36, on active service in the Far East.1
     He graduated from Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He gained the rank of Squadron Leader in the Royal Air Force.1
