     Margery Spencer was born in 1886.^1,2 She was the daughter of Reverend Walter Spencer and Anne Elizabeth Hudson.^1,2 She married Thomas Hamar Greenwood, 1st Viscount Greenwood, son of John Hamar Greenwood and Charlotte Churchill Hubbard, on 23 May 1911.¹ She died on 24 April 1968.¹
     From 23 May 1911, her married name became Greenwood.¹ She was appointed Dame Commander, Order of the British Empire (D.B.E.) in 1922.¹ She was appointed Officer, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (O.St.J.)¹
