He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He graduated from Magdalene College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) (Hons.)1 Officer.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He was awarded the Territorial Decoration (T.D.) in 1947.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel between 1947 and 1951 in the Yorkshire Dragoons.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of the West Riding of Yorskhire in 1952.1 He was chairman of Greens Economiser Group between 1956 and 1983.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) in 1959.1 He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Green, of Wakefield, co. York and Ken Hill, co. Norfolk [U.K., 1886] on 13 May 1996.1
