William Goulding was born on 3 April 1761.1 He was the son of William Goulding and Eleanor Palmer.3 He married, secondly, Jane Carroll.1 He married, firstly, Frances Smith, daughter of Joshua Smith, on 14 February 1781.1 He married, thirdly, Susanna Franck in 1798.1 He died on 21 September 1824 at age 63.1
He had six sons and three daughters (all died young or unmarried.)1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Roscrea Corps Yeomanry Cavalry.1
