     William Douro Hoare was born in 1862.² He was the son of Richard Hoare and Susan Tomkinson.² He married Mary Ida Lillian Rate, daughter of Lachlan Mackintosh Rate.² He died in 1928.²
     He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)³ He lived at Guessens, Welwyn, Hertfordshire, England.³ He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.)¹
